Misspits Rescue, a safe place for all

Welcome to Misspits Rescue, a safe space for animals of all kinds. A sanctuary started for the love of a big, happy, lovable pit named Dexter. He came into my life and created an advocate in me. He was full of life and love, but judged by his big head and bigger smile. Along the way I volunteered with an existing rescue and my local humane society. In 2013, I created Misspits Rescue. We focused on pit bull type dogs and helped them wherever we could. We expanded to other at-risk dogs too. We are foster based with all dogs living in homes with families.

In 2017, I bought a farm in Oakville, WA. We moved here and built a beautiful, safe space. While the work will always be ongoing, we are now fully fenced and even have a SniffSpot for the pups to enjoy. Soon after relocating, we learned of the need for a safe space for farmed animals. I assisted on several cruelty/neglect cases and we started offering sanctuary to pigs, a horse, goats and chickens. Now we are a safe home to them plus cows, equines, assorted birds, sheep, and more. We even offer a home to several varieties of reptiles and invertebrates. All are welcome here, to live and enjoy life with no expectation of what they can do for us.

We are positive reinforcement based and do not breed, sell, or eat our animal friends. We advocate for force-free training, spay and neuter, and respect for all beings.

Dexter has since passed but his legacy lives on in everyone here. ❤️

Thank you,

Misspits Rescue
